Description
Letter from Dr. Luciano Steindler, son of Captain Umberto Steindler, director of Lloyd Triestino of Trieste, to Fulvio Suvich at the Foreign Ministry.
Steindler seeks a solution to the problem of Jewish refugees from Germany and Europe who pass through the port of Trieste on Italian ships. The author of the letter proposes finding a solution under Italian auspices in the Land of Israel and also in the area of the Lake Tana in Ethiopia - an area where thousands of Falashmura (felusha, falascia) live. Italy could play an important role in the establishment of a Jewish state.
