February 10: Nationalist students disturb lecture by Prof. Norman Bentwich at ceremony for Cathedra for International Peace. Fifteen students arrested, among them, Abba Ahimeir, Benzion Netanyahu.

February 11: Jabotinsky testifies at Peel Commission, demanding Jewish National Home on both sides of Jordan River, and unlimited Jewish immigration. Accused British Rule of violating its commitment to Jewish People.

February 6: Etzel revolt declared. "To the Jewish People in Zion" published after government announces immigration restrictions; British ban Jews from entering their homeland at height of Holocaust.

February 20: 12 Etzel and Lehi prisoners escape Central Prison, in Russian Compound, Jerusalem, through tunnel they dug from a cell. They left, disguised as sanitation workers.

February 25: Amichai Paglin ("Gidi"), killed along with wife, Zippora, in traffic accident. Formerly Etzel Operations Officer and advisor to Prime Minister Menachem Begin on war on terror.

February 25: Dr. Eliyahu Ben-Elissar, Israel's first ambassador in Egypt, submits his credentials to President Sadat. Concurrently, Egyptian ambassador in Israel submits his credentials President Yitzhak Navon.

February 1: Dr. Herzl Rosenblum dies, former Yediyot Aharonot editor member of Provisional Government Council, on behalf of Union of Zionist Revisionists and signatory of Israel's Declaration of Independence.
