Series of documentaries about the Palmach: 'Stalks and a Sword'
May 15, 1948, (Heh BeIyar) Syrian and Lebanese forces invaded the eastern Galilee and to the Jordan Valley. Yiftach- Palmach Division pushed the enemy and was assisted by Golani unit in counterattack.
June 1948 - led by Mullah Cohen - the unit conquered Lydda (Lod). In August of that year, 'Yiftach' infiltrated the besieged Negev, fought in the Lahish region and Beit Hanoun on way to Gaza.
'Yiftach - Palmach' Division consisted mainly of 'recruited trainees', boys and girls. 315 male and female fighters fell in battle. Following the war, members of Yiftach established 13 communities.
