September 20: Jewish Legion, 38th Battalion of Royal Fusiliers, under command of Lieutenant Colonel John Patterson participates in battle of Umm-es-Shert on the Jordan River.
1933
September 30: Shofar blown at close of Yom Kippur by Aharon Zuckerman, Betar and "Brit HaBirionim" member, at Western Wall. Zuckerman arrested by British Police and detained for two weeks.
1935
September 7 - 12: At New Zionist Organization (N.Z.O.) Founding Conference, Vienna, Zionism's Goal defined: To establish a Jewish state, eliminate the Diaspora and develop a national culture. Jabotinsky elected President.
1936
September 8: Jabotinsky outlines European Evacuation Plan, in lecture to Warsaw newspaper representatives. Proposes establishment of group of countries favoring Jewish immigration to Eretz Israel and granting him the Mandate.
1937
September 1: Ship the Sarah Aleph arrives for visit in Haifa Port. Ship used by Betar trainees for marine studies in Betar Naval School in Civitavecchia, Italy.
1938
September 11 - 16: Jabotinsky and Begin debate wording of "Betar Oath" at Betar 3rd World Conference, Warsaw. Begin's version accepted: 'I will lift my arm to defend my nation and conquer my homeland’.
1939
September 5: Etzel Commander David Raziel sends letter of support to British Military Commander, requesting release for self and comrades to participate in British military effort against Germany.
1948
September 17: U.N. Negotiator Swedish Count Folke Bernadotte assassinated in Jerusalem, by members of the "Homeland Front" (Lehi), as result of his anti-Israeli position, in favor of internationalizing Jerusalem.
2005
September 12: Unilateral disengagement from Gaza Strip completed, as initiated by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, ending Jewish settlement in Gush Katif and Northern Samaria.
